There’s a Hole in the Bucket is the community blog of the University of Alberta Press. We’ve loosened our collars and rolled up our sleeves in order to indulge the more tangential exploits of university publishing—at least at the UAP. We promise to announce our books and their brilliant authors and editors as new titles come available; but we’d especially like Hole in the Bucket to be a forum for both light-hearted observations and more critical commentary about the state of publishing, particularly for us as university publishers.
The University of Alberta Press publishes in the areas of biography, history, language, literature, natural history, regional interest, travel narratives and reference books. UAP contributes to the intellectual and cultural life of Alberta and Canada by publishing well-edited, research-based knowledge and creative thought that has undergone rigorous peer-review, is of real value to natural constituencies, adheres to quality publication standards and is supported by diligent marketing efforts.
